The new direction.

Having analysed closely at Stravinky's Rite of Spring. I came to the conclusion that the narrative in which the composition was created was suited and fit in quiet well with what i wanted to create. Dance and choreography became my NARRATIVE. I wanted to create sculptural dance pieces for my exhibition piece to help showcase the fashion designers creations. My initial sketches and ideas came from the idea of going back to the original chosen space. Newton Building, Nottingham. It's open, light and airy. Everything of 'Spring' without my need to create the atmosphere. This also helped as it opened my design to ANY space not just a contained and restricted space. The question now is how to fill it.....

NARRATIVE

something that gave the topic/ subject sense and made it easier to remember... something with a beginning - middle - end.

So for my piece I started to try and focus on narrative. Picking out themes and points of interest...

Fashion

Light

Marketing

I settled on Spring. 

So how do I promote the fashion pieces to suggest the idea of spring on their own and not only by material and colour or the season that it was sold in?.....

Narrative.....and one of the most famous creative Spring pieces known is Stravinky's The Rite of Spring. (1913)
